My first visit to The Loop, Hazel. I can't add anything very profound but you made me chuckle out loud and on a miserable afternoon I welcomed that. I may even have a go at Blind drawing.
Hi Hazel I’ve just gone back to sketching, just this month, and I’m really enjoying it BUT I haven’t tried blind - yet!! Now I’ve seen your message, and thanks for that, I will, (after Wimbledon finishes).
The title is "Winters in the World - A Journey Through the Anglo-Saxon Year," by Eleanor Parker. She is a lecturer at Oxford on Medieval English Literature. I find it well written and love the inclusion of Anglo-Saxon poems, and observations of historians from that time. The back cover statement - "Winters in the World" is a beautifully observed journey through the cycle of the year in Anglo-Saxon England, exploring not only rituals and customs linked to the different seasons, but the profound relationship between human life and the rhythms of nature.
I absolutely love this post!! Thank you!
Oh! Thanks for saying so JL. X

Hello Carol. I see I didn’t reply to this comment of yours for which I’m sorry. Did you ever have a go at blind drawing? Please show me if you did

I've done this before (blind drawing) and now I want to do it again. Thanks so much for reviving the concept.
Thank you. Please show me if you do some blind drawings.
Thanks Hazel for sharing. I love the quote about time. Reading a book about Anglo Saxon approach to time, seasons. It's fascinating. 😎
Ooh, tell us more about it please!

Thank you Colleen, so interesting.
I love blind drawing too! Always turns into funny drawings and bring smiles to myself :)
Great! I’d like to start a « Take a line for a walk » thread/section, borrowing from Art Tribe challenge of course.
Yes, I couldn't resist using Louise's/Trayci's title and I was hoping it might catch attention.
That would be cool.
Hey Rita, I put a note up about blind contour drawing - I'd love to see one of yours if you fancy it. I love the drawings you've shared in CAC.
Thanks so much Hazel for checking it out. I haven’t figured out how to share image with others in substack 😝. Let me explore a bit ….
