Not just chatter but often pandemonium! When I'm making marks, I think of nothing but the sensation of my tool on the substrate and the extraordinary uniqueness of the result.
🎺 Congratulations on letting your first post run free. I love that we get to play with paint and words. Improvised tools are my favourites - they stop me overthinking things
I've painted a lot and written even more—what I love about writing is it's so easy to delete, fix, rearrange, etc. which makes me feel like I can take more risks and be more creative. With painting, its a lot harder to correct something once it's on the canvas. Maybe that's why I ultimately chose writing!
I just love that first image - totally drew me in. Glad to be a part of your journey :-)
Thank you very much, Helen, I appreciate your comment. And thanks for restocking my post. It’s lovely to be noticed.
Congratulations! Lovely to see your work here
Thank you Helen for this AND for your encouraging words on CAC , I'm here at last!!
Its great news, and I see you have a lovely lot of comments already!
I like marks too. Usually more interesting and meaningful than words.
Indeed, Cecil. they flow from me with more confidence than words do, for sure.
And unlike words they don’t make noise in your head except maybe a kind of music. Every one’s heads are too full of chatter.

Welcome to substack!!
Thank you!
Hazel - this art is ASTOUNDING, oh my goodness! I am GLAD you're getting away from the social media rat race - it doesn't deserve you or your art!
Seth, do you make a Podcast?
I don’t, but I like the idea of doing a podcast. Would you give it a listen if I made one?
Yes of course!
Wow, thank you Seth.

Its so nice to have my first post completed. I'll just have to ignore the negative self belief and just write from my heart, from me.
